  1. I was wondering if one of the priviledges of being the chair of the BOS is your own private parking spot? It appears Mr Bennett has already taken one behind the T H.

BTW I have family coming in from Oklahoma this weekend and there is no room in my driveway, would it be ok if they park the RV next to the red cadi?

    ReplyDelete
  2. At least we didn't vote for every single tax raising warrant article this time. No surprise that we're getting 2 more police vehicles, though. He sure knows how to get out the vote.

    ReplyDelete
  3. It was convenient to note how the police cruisers were going to be paid for, yet no where on the question regarding irrigation for woodlock park was there mention that baseball this year was going to pay for part of the irrigation and what the TOTAL cost was. But hey, lets continue to cut, seed, and fertilize areas that have no water. Money well spent.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Maybe baseball supporters are finally learning what it takes to get something approved in town. YOU HAVE TO GET PEOPLE TO VOTE.

    DUH.

They did a great job getting supporters to deliberative but left a man on third base.

The disinterest by people with kids is very sad. But the Seniors got Phil his new cruisers!

  5. Bennett should be ticketed and fined for leaving his car buried in the snow behind our town hall.

Shame on you Bill...Can the police take action for illegal dumping. Any one else in town would get a ticket. Tow it away already.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I was wondering who's car that was. What a loser.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Can you say ABUSE OF POWER, I'm not surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  8. It was sad how few people signed up to run for office. We used to have competitive races and real choices. Now, alot of empty seats. I think we should nominate Phil to run them all. Then he can show how a king really operates.

Even fewer people showed up to vote.

Here's the subtle message to town leadership: residents want nothing to do with you. Word is out you keep a crazy man in power.

  9. what happened to the write ins for conflict of interest and budget, and SB budget

    ReplyDelete
  10. Please watch Chanell 20 this season and see what a clown is sitting in the middle seat. Maybe he'll be able to keep an eye on his red cadi. Hey Bill why don't you put a "for sale" sign on it too since you obviosly upgraded to the brand new maroon one.

I can see it now "the clown hall used car lot". Let's bring a few more clunkers down and park them back there and see how quickly the "clowns" start calling.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Is that all you have to complain about? A selectman parking a car at town hall? I'm sure the residents of Atkinson are suffering from this terrible act of injustice. Must be time for a class action lawsuit!!! Get a life.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hey 6:59 Anon, if you only knew what a head clown this guy is you wouldnt be telling me to get a life! Pay attention to The Greatest Show on Earth and write back occassionally.

Mr Bennett are you familiar with the Number One Song back in the 80's by the Police "Every Breath you Take I'll be watching you" I will be playing that every Monday night starting next week as I watch you.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Did anyone think it was odd that this is the first year that there was no Town Report mailed out? In the Town Report one would find the ballot which obviously would remind people to vote. Hmmm maybe the "powers to be" didnt want to advertise and remind everyone in Atkinson to vote. Can you spell Kihnspiracy?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm not a Bennett fan, but complaining about a car being parked at town hall? Like I said, get a life.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's not parked, it was dumped. Buried in the snow, the lot could not be plowed properly. What an embarrassment. No wonder the Academy Parents didn't vote. The town hall has become a joke. The Clown Shoe Monday nights!

    ReplyDelete
  16. The town report was not mailed out because the selectmen were trying to save you money. In past years it has cost >20K to print and mail the report. This year they tried a new printer who was cheaper but screwed up. The report is up on the web page in the selectmen's section "2010 Town Report" as a PDF file which you can download. There will be some hard copies available in town hall but there isn't much point in mailing them to the whole town at great expense when most people just throw them away.

  17. WHO IS GETTING THE KICKBACK ON THE FD ROOF IT CAN BE DONE FOR 250.00 AS SQUARE. AND MAKE A GOOD PROFIT LET,S SEE WHO GET,S THE JOB.

  18. Im glad the irrigation failed. They'd use HAWC who imposes a water ban every year from May thru August during which time, the pressure is very low and we can barely get enough shower water.

They wouldn't be able to use it anyway and we need the water, evidebtly, we do not have enough to supply the customers they have.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Now that the BOS is trying to save money by not printing the report, will they do something about the gawd awful website?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bennetts car still parked at the Town Hall. I'm ok with it as long as he is leasing the space. Surely he doesn't expect free storage. What is the rate? I have a car I need to store.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is not the first year the annual report was not mailed. A LONG time ago, the Boy Scouts used to deliver them (thus saving the town money) One year, though, a few bundles were just thrown by the wayside, meaning several people did not get their report.
That's when the Selectmen decided to mail. I don't know if there's a legal requirement that reports be mailed, but there is a law that states reports must be available one week prior to Town Meeting. If there were any available in town hall, I think they fulfilled their statutory requirement. Did anybody go ask? I didn't but was wondering if others might have.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The best thing to do with the Conflict of Interest Committee is to re-write the stupid law, thus giving it some teeth. The Chief was brought up a few times. with all votes supporting him. Wasn't it Mark who first tried the Committee, lost and then went to court?

  24. Mark Acciard got 4 write in votes for School Budget Committee

    http://tinyurl.com/timb-results

I thought you needed 5 votes but apparently not. Len Mullen was elected to the Danville school budget committee slot last time around with only 3 write in votes.

  25. People / selectmen wonder why people won't run for office with Consentino still in office where he uses his influence to railroad his distractors though the court system? Give me a break!

If you want honest people to run for office, get rid of Consentino. Otherwise, we don't need Selectmen because the Con-man will run us all over.

Is this what the taxpayers want? If so, you have the government you deserve. If not, get rid of the Con-man. The choice is yours. Until then............DON'T EXPECT ANY SELF RESPECTNG TAXPAYER TO RUN FOR OFFICE.

    jmho

  26. Not getting a Town Report is another way this BOS has of alienating the people. They are being penny wise and pound foolish
if they think saving money on the Report is what anyone is looking for.

No wonder there are no good neighbors signing up for offfice or volunteers waiting to help.

The Town Report has always been very important to the people living here. By taking it away has only brought on more apathy.

it didn't have to be very large, all gussied up with colors or pictures.Just a simple Report that says, Atkinsin,NH, with vendors, salaries, vital statistics, etc. Just something that says this is my town and I care about it.

BOS has done nothing but discourage the citizens.

By not allowing people that were willing to donate time, to putting all kinds of rules and roadblocks in the way. Some offices were ordered not to allow volunteers in their office.

You reap what you sow and believe me you have not made many friends but you have made the citizens feel like second class. They are not about to forget it

    You said -

Chief has his moments.. I'll grant you that.. But to think that one man has so much influence that he can sway an election.. Seriously.. grow up. Also he does a lot for the town outside of his position at the PD. You should thank him AND his wife for the work they do for the towns elderly.

You are naive and uninformed to the reality of his political organization run out of the PD at taxpayer expense.

I've heard your line from many who've been conned by him and he puts up a very convincing front. Go look in his office. See all the pictures of him posing with Bush and other NH politicians. Not family portaits in there but all his political heros. He is a politician of the worst kind cause he uses the badge to silence any critics.

I know you'll never change your mind cause there are those that buy into his hogwash perception manipulating and those who know the truth. That's the fact Jack. Sorry to shatter the image of him helping seniors but he does to get favors and votes and is very convincing in his sincerity. But it's all about the votes. Period. All 3 selectman in office right now got in there because when they first ran for office they had Phils' support and are obligated to him and know the ugly truth. Atkinson is as corrupt as it gets. A very unfortunate reality that's led to volunteer and voter apathy hitting an all time low. Nobody will run against Phil's guys because they know its a waste of time. The budget committee - has only one person of any long time standing left cause they are sick of the scam and bloated PD budget.

    The emporer has no clothes.

All my humble opinion of course.

And now a word from the Phil suckups monitoring the blog. Not on the clock right now are you?

  32. last time i checked, most roofing shingles had a 20 to 25 yr lifetime.....i know mine have been on my roof for 16 years and are not even close to needing replacement. How come we only got 10 or so from the ones on the Fire Station?? In driving by, next time take a look, they look like they have a few more years left in them. $46,080....please!

    what a joke.

maybe Mr. Bennett can park his car at the F.S. and they can bury it with the old shingles.

    ReplyDelete
  33. While I applaud the selectmen for trying to save the taxpayers money, ( if that was what was behind the failure to print and mail the town report), maybe they could extend their moment of fiduciary responsibility and stop paying the personal legal expenses of former town officials.

Currently Frank Polito has a lawsuit against Mr. Artus and Mr. Brownfield, and If I am correct the Town is paying his counsel.

WHY would this be a taxpayer liability?

I know that the BOS has a history of paying the personal legal expenses of town officials, But that hasn't really happened since the corrupt board of Sapia, Consentino, Childs paid Phil's lawyer for his appearance as a WITNESS!

  35. You don't know me either and I have tried to affect change. After banging my head against the wall for so long it hurts too much to keep trying.

Look its the BOS job to get rid of trouble employees and the BOS simply ain't doing their job because they owe Phil. Until you have 2 members of the BOS that are willing to have the gonads to kick the bum out, nothing will change so what's the point of trying. the people who have the power to make change won't. Too many people I know stuck their neck out and suffered major pain for it. Some moved out of town. Good for you that your doing something. N way i'm getting involved with a person wh's sanity I question. Not a whole lotta logic going on and he's got the badge and will use it.

Don't even TRY to point the finger at me and say I'm not doing anything cause I KNOW personally what the real deal is. These people are not stable. Hundreds of people in town share a similar view. He's got a badge, GET IT? Duh.

    Just my opinion of course.

  36. What you don't hear of is the number of people that have complained to the ATG or any other state office they could think of, looking for help. They did not get a reply, or if they did, it was to tell them it was not their problem.

So many people are aware of the terrible situation our town is in but without a BOS that is not willing to take on these immoral so called leaders. Ergo-no change.
The only power we have has to come from the voters,or the Selectmen. The next problem is the BOS allowing these people to block any effort to make a change.

We have a BOS that refuses to eliminate those that are not doing their job, don't belong there and do as they damn well please.

Don't think some of us have not tried other avenues of investigation to make a change but so far it's not going to happen.

  37. Just how long are we going to
be forced to look at Consentino's
picture when we access the blog.

    Blog manager, please remove it.
    Long enough is long enough.

  38. MHT Airports weekly parking rate is $85. How much do you think Bennett should be charged?

Abuse of power, what other privileges is he taking?
He reads the blog daily. Still doesn't care what the taxpayer thinks of him. Hope you're not planning on running again.

You could at least explain your need to store a car on T.H. property? BOS, can any taxpayer store a car. I'm leaving for Florida for a month can I store my car next to Bennetts?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mark you are such a hypocrite. If Phil, Frank or Jack left a car parked over the winter at the T.H. you'ld be all over it.

What say you, or is Bill doing so much for your causes you dare not speak against him?

  40. Mark you are such a hypocrite. If Phil, Frank or Jack left a car parked over the winter at the T.H. you'ld be all over it.

  41. Do you expect Mark to comment on every dumb posting here, including yours?

    ReplyDelete
  42. To the Jackass who posted requesting a comment from me, here it is;

Why are you so incensed at Bennets car being behind the town hall?

Is it hurting you? Is it costing the taxpayers money? Is it somehow an issue that requires your outrage?

And why would you assume that Mr. Bennet is doing anything for me? Or any of the selectmen for that matter?

I know that Mr. Bennet has been ill, and I assume that his leaving of the car there after a meeting has something to do with that. As a reasonable taxpayer, it is costing me nothing, and harming the town not at all, therefore it is not something I am overly concerned about.

Maybe you should show up at a selectmen meeting and ask why it is there, I am certain you will get your answer.

    PS;
What is your relationship to Phil, Jack, or Frank? You seem to have an awful thin skin where they are concerned. doesn't pass the sniff test.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mr Bennett if you do read this blog everyday you are more of an arrigant SOB than I originally thought. I pray that we have someone in this town that is planning their campaign against you as of this posting.

    ReplyDelete
  44. As for Mr Acciard's comment about the cadi being parked at the TH due to an illness. Take a look at Bennetts drive, you live right down the street don't you Mark. There are 3 cars parked there and one is Bill's brand new car. If there were 4 cars Billy may have to get out of bed before noon to move one of the cars so his wife or daughter could leave for work.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yes I see the cars daily but it is little of my business. Perhaps if I recognized some intentional wrongdoing, or improper cost to the taxpayer, I could get more upset.

I am more pissed at the selectmens willingness to spend my tax dollars on personal legal expenses for former town officials. THAT pisses me off. Paying legal expenses for defense is one thing, but paying them so that arrogant former town official can file a lawsuit against another private citizen is outrageous!

The taxpayers have no liability for this. And the selectmen should exercise their fiduciary responsibility to tell Frank NO!

    ReplyDelete
  46. sorry to change the subject of this post, but can someone tell me what happened to the Osborns vs. Davis lawsuit? also, what the timeframe is on the Osborns paying the town? (which i doubt will ever happen in my lifetime!!)
    or is that under appeal??

again, sorry, but was looking for an answer and figured i could get it here.
not looking for an Osborn firestorm, just an update

  48. Abuse of power is abuse of power, whether it's cost you money or not. No other taxpayer is storing a vehicle at TH, and you have proven yourself to be a hypocrite.

  49. Osborn's did appeal to the Supreme Court and it was denied. They filed for reconsideration and that was denied. The Town asked the Superior Court for permission to attach and was approved for $150,000 dollars.

    Score? TOWN 4 Osborns 0

Now let's see if the Town collects the money OR if they let them off the hook in a closed door session six months down the road.

  52. Somewhat off the topic of voting results, but I have an urgent (to me) question. Does Chief have any restrictions to his power? Can he, hypothetically of course, condemn a home because wants to, without an inspection by someone else? Does he have the right to tell other people it has been condemned if no notice has been given to the owner? I could really use some help here. I have not been able to find a description of his duties and rights anywhere! Thanks!

  53. You can check RSA 105, however, the bottom line is he isn't allowed to do anything that is not stipulated in the RSA's. I doubt that randomly condemning a house would be part of RSA.

  54. Condemnation and eviction are covered under public health and would normally be administered by the health officer or the fire chief. However by law any town official can serve as a health officer. See RSA 147-16a.

Under section 7 this law does not apply to residences occupied only by the owner and his family unless there is a danger to others.

Also, under section 9, if some town official puts up a notice to vacate without good reason the town will be ordered to pay up.

  56. http://www.eagletribune.com/newhampshire/x977553787/NH-towns-brace-for-state-budget-cuts

In Atkinson, Selectman Bill Bennett said it's no surprise his town would lose substantial aid through Lynch's proposed budget — about $923,500, according to the report.

"He's a Democrat and he's going to go after the more wealthy towns — and Atkinson is in that group," he said. "I just hope the Legislature will do the fair thing and the right thing."

  57. Missed opportunity! Timberlane's budget should have
been cut by 1 million to cover any lost state aid. How
much longer is it going to take the voters to come to their senses. The federal government is broke. The state is broke. And soon the town and it's residents will be broke.
This is how trickle-down economics works.

  58. As its presently written, it appears to me that HB2, now in the Finance Committee, will push more educational expenses onto the school districts. In HB2 the state basically says that they will no longer contribute a portion of teachers' retirement savings and that the school district must take up the slack. for Timberlane that amounts to ~ $1.3 million. Since its unfunded now and not in the new budget its likely that other things/people will get cut to pay for HB2 if it passes and is signed into law.

On a positive note, I believe if the state no longer funds teachers (an others: HB2 also covers police) retirements, then the state can no longer mandate that districts use the state retirement system. Can you say 401K??

  59. Just wondering how Mr Acciard would like it if Plaistow PD took over patroling the streets of Atkinson? Just wondering

  60. Hey Tim D, how do feel about the red cadi being allowed to park behind the town hall? Didn't you park there before?

  61. I don't know how Mr. Acciard would answer your question, but I know I would like it as long as the Atkinson Police Dept. were disolved. Plaistow could hire our GOOD policemen, and THE CON-MAN along with his inflated budget would be gone from that budget line.

That would be a WIN, WIN for the taxpayers of Atkinson!
