Atkinson voters face 3 articles about Elderly Affairs
By Cara Hogan
chogan@eagletribune.com
ATKINSON — There still are competing warrant articles on the March ballot regarding the Elderly Affairs Department, but selectmen have changed theirs.
It seems the board didn't check with the Recreation Commission before they proposed combining two part-time positions into one full-time job. Selectmen wanted voters to approve creating a single position by merging the part-time Elderly Affairs director's job with the part-time director of Recreation and Senior Programs.
But Selectman Fred Childs said the board changed the article after talking to Noriko Yoshida-Travers, director of Recreation and Senior Programs.
"We didn't talk to the people down at the Community Center before we wrote the article," he said. "Noriko said it wasn't possible to combine the two positions."
After the first draft article, Yoshida-Travers said her job already had too many responsibilities to add more.
"I don't think I can handle that workload for both positions together," she said at the time. "It would be very difficult with my hours."
Now, selectmen have drafted a new article, calling for an annual salary of $25,000 for the part-time elderly affairs job, a position now held by police Chief Philip Consentino — for $100 a year.
Selectmen also drafted a second article, calling for the department to move out of the police station and into the Atkinson Community Center. That articles carries a $1,000 price tag.
Consentino said both articles are designed to separate him from Elderly Affairs. He's been on the job since 1993.
Selectmen and Consentino have long clashed over his dual roles. There's never been a meeting of the minds over the way Consentino handles both jobs. The disagreement reached the attorney general's office a few years ago.
In 2008, the state Charitable Trust Unit found a conflict of interest with Elderly Affairs being intermingled with the police department. The finances were officially separated, but Consentino continues to operate the program out of the police department.
Selectmen want to change that and they are using an independent study of the police department to back up their proposals.
Selectmen paid Municipal Resources Inc. $5,000 last year to review the police department. One of the recommendations in MRI's report was the separation of police and elder affairs.
"That was a recommendation from the MRI report, that Elderly Affairs should be separate from the police department," Childs said. "That was our original plan and it just got pushed back."
From Consentino's perspective, it's just more of the same.
"I couldn't understand why they're creating a job for $25,000 when I'm doing the job for $100 a year," he said. "They're just trying to break up Elderly Affairs, knowing I won't take the job on a full or part-time basis because it's too much work."
That's not necessarily so, Childs said.
"We're going to have to hire someone part-time," Childs said. "That doesn't mean the chief wouldn't have the job."
Consentino said he would wash his hands of the jobif the selectmen's articles pass. Two weeks ago, he drafted a citizens petition, which also will appear on the ballot. That article calls for leaving the Elderly Affairs Department just the way it is.
The chief said he hopes voters recognize what's happening and vote against the selectmen's proposals.
Even Childs acknowledges they probably will.
"I think that people are going to vote against it," Childs said. "The chief has a petition not to do anything with Elderly Affairs and I'm sure that's the one that will pass."

We all know it. Taxes we pay for the PD are used to fund the seniors taxi service. We're the only PD taxi service in the state for a reason. Nobody else does it because its wrong and its dumb. Its also illegal misappropriation of tax dollars.
But who cares about the law in Atkinson? Phil tells em how to vote and seniors blindly follow.
What kind of example are you setting for your kids and grandkids? That we should break the law? We should do what the Attorney General told us to do. We should do what the MRI report recommended. Please follow the law and eliminate the conflict of interest. Then maybe once and for all, all this fighting can end.
Hey Fred, does it tell you something about the faith the people of atkinson have in you when you say, the people will probably vote against our proposal.
Long live King Consentino!!!!
Ok Bloggers, I' m sure you can spin this against the Chief and the PD but please explain to me how paying someone 25,000 a year vs 100.00 a year is intelligent?
I can't wait to hear this one.
"Chief, you can not have someone clean the pd for the price of a sandwich each day, we just don't have the money"
"Hey Fred and Craig let's increase the Elderly Affairs budget by 24, 900 and see if the voters will see through our vendetta vs PVC".
I'd like to hear more about the police union contract, it must be 0's across the board if the Budget Committee is giving it the thumbs up.
Hey, Have you heard Younger Affairs? YA is a long time coming to the sleepy town of Akinson. It will be based out of the town library but run from the Atkinson Police Department. Librarians will be drivers for rides for the younger to Kimball library and the Rockingham Mall. YA services will be dispatched from the police station by our dedicated crew of partimers. Sporty police sedans will be leased to YA at a nominal fee to provide the most exciting transportation experience. Donation letters for Youth Affairs will issue from our experienced staff at the PD while working on the town dime but be folded and stuffed by Kimball Staff and finally walked to the post office by "retired" members of the Conflict of Interest Committee. Please DONATE so we can impregnate our Youth 'O' Atkinson as to future voting etiquette. The Frank Polito Memorial "KARS FOR KIDS" program is already off the starting line and "delivering" handsomely. If you love our sleepy Town 'O' Atkinson and are a protector of the Youth, please call our staff at Kimball Library TODAY and the APD will haul your junk right away for us as our slogan is and will forever be.... "YOU CALL WE HAUL"!
Sing along now: "KARS FOR KIDS...KARS FOR KIDS...KARS FOR KIDDS...KARS FOR KIDS...? (now the chorus) CARS FOR COPS...CARS FOR COPS...CARS FOR COPS...MORE CARS FOR COPS!"
Selectmen should not have put the chief's warrant article on the ballot.
Signatures were obtained by electioneering, and under Consentino’s bullying tactics.
His warrant article flies in the face of the Attorney General's Office directive; get the Elderly Affairs out of the police department.
Atkinson's Elderly Affairs Department should be called the Senior Transportation Division of the Atkinson Police Department. That is what Consentino has called it in the past.
I agree "this is so wrong and dumb." I feel badly that some of the seniors fall for his continuing abuse and lies.
But we like electioneering...and we got rid of our town Conflict on Interest Committee to prove it!
how can the bos change there article after the deadline
I agree. Electioneering is a good reason to can that warrant article.
We should not be voting to move the dept. to the CC.
We can vote to raise the salary to $25k, but I won't unless there's a stipulation about separating depts.
Because 80% of the time we pay phil for police work is spent on elderly anyway.
To 10:28 a.m. LOVE YOUR POST!!! The comparison between the EA & the YA is right on!!! Thanks for your excellent writing..
For $100 a year Phil Consentino gets to play town boss with all the corruption that entails and for $25,000 a year we put Phil out to pasture and end his evil empire. Just how much are your civil rights worth? The Return on Investment is paid off very quickly every year in lawsuit avoidance.
There, I said it and I'm glad!
news flash, article passes to up pay to 25k, article also passes to keep at pd. article to move to cc is shot down fast and hard. chief gets large pay raise and continues to run the program. not hard to figure this one out!
whatever happened to not being able to hold more than one paid position in town? or am i misremembering?
misremembering?
you mean forgetting.
In case you bloggers missed this:
To the editor:
The voters of Atkinson should lighten up on police Chief Phil Consentino. Get to your selectmen and town manager and demand that they support the present chief whose only concern is the town.
Having worked with Chief Phil on the state and county levels for years, I have never found a better police chief anywhere. Phil's management has kept all of your property taxes down. Just wait to see what the town of Atkinson's tax rate will be if the selectmen have their way. Thousands of dollars in costs now become tens of thousands — all this for nothing more than what you all have now with Chief Phil, and without the dedication.
A chief who cares for the poor, the sick, the troubled, and the needy, Chief Consentino has dedicated most of his life to your town's law enforcement, protection and care. Do not let him down now, he has always been there when you needed him.
Robert A. Farrar
Plaistow
Nice, now Farrar is painting the Conman as Robin Hood! Give me a break.
Farrar wouldn't have had a job anyplace else in the state, if Conman hadn't taken him under his wing when no one else would hire him. See what lengths the Conman will go to get people to write letters of recommendation for him? Got to consider the source on this one folks.
Farrar got one part right. Phil has been ROBBING this town for years, and bragging he didn't have to wear a HOOD to do it.
Without all the lawsuits the Conman has caused, our taxes would have been hundreds of thousands of dollars less today.
Hail to the bully with a badge, and his rump swab Farrar.
Farrar must be looking for some advancement w/i the department. Who knows !! may be he will be the next chief or the next Lt. with the Conmans blessing. Hell!,with all Farrar has been taught by example from the Conman he will make another Conman except for being a look alike. Can you imagine what the towns well being will be like in regards to what the APD is SUPPOSED to be and should give its citizens if there is another moon bat in the upper ranks of the department? Question ... Why hasn't Farrar gone to another dept. if he has so much rump swabbing training and expertize ? OOPS! it must be because the Conman trained him or the answer has all ready been made else where on the site.
robert farrar not phil get it right
chief stays get rid of corrupt bos
Robert Farrar, Phil Consentino, Phil Farrar..........all the same people. Names and places have been changed to protect the guilty.
Youth Affairs to the Eagle Tribune: Please publish:
Youth Affairs, a division of the Atkinson Police Dept., (subdivision of the Kimballistic Library).... YA thanks our great town leaders for protecting our Youth of Atkinson's Loud drug parties on Meditation Ave, under benign auspices, fostering new "life experiences" to compare only with our prior year offerings on Stage Road.
When the articles talk about the elderly affairs costing the town only $100, that is incorrect. If the Chief is running the elderly affairs while he is in the police stations on duty, then it is really costing a lot more.
I say give the Chief the position of running elderly affairs, as long as he retires/quits from the police department. The two services should be separated.
I don't understand why the Chief keeps trying to run both departments. Isn't it time for him to retire as Chief. It seems he is too old for the job.
It's sad that we have to bargain with him to get rid of him.
The chief does not run either department.
He spends his time chewing the rag with anyone he can smooze for self interest gain.
1:54, I doubt if there would any or many who would disagree with you given what this elderly man has done to the town. He has disgraced it by his on going suits he has brought to the town and selected towns people who are against him and his insane enforcement of law and elderly affairs. I can't say a 100 dollars per year isn't a bargain but I can say his police chief duties are not any where the best. If it takes him to resigning or getting fired as chief then so be it. I wouldn't be objective to his running elderly affairs for the 100 dollars but he has to go as a person running the police department. The costs of getting a new chief certainly beats the cost of the many suits he and he alone are responsible for. A good chief with good chiefly direction as regards the public and his employees are the best for the tax payers and public at large. I believe this to be cheaper over all. The selectmen have been lacks for their not being able to see that he is a negative to the town and not a plus. I think the public pressures on them recently show they have been lax and they , if they are guilty of misdeeds, are going to save their back sides in order to be avoiding law suits. This is the only reason why they are doing what they should have done so long ago. How guilty they are is to be seen ... some where in the future. Resign Conman or be fired as chief. The job of shuttling the elderly here and there could be your only salvation of survival for what you have caused this town in money and scorn state wide.
Didn't the tribune already write this article 2 weeks ago?

Atkinson voters will face opposing articles on ballot
By Cara Hogan
chogan@eagletribune.com"
Tribune only tries to stir the Atkinson pot and see what Phil will say next. They are both leeches on each other.
Does Farrar even live in Atkinson?
Another non-resident with no clue about all the lawsuits and law breaking from our PD.
Stop attacking police chief
To the editor:
Enough is enough! I am not an Atkinson resident, but I am appalled at the quality of character and lack of professionalism of the selectmen! Come on, voters, put into office some qualified, caring and unbiased adults.
For the past 20-plus years, the selectmen have done nothing but attack the police chief in any way they can. First and foremost, any and all individuals' personal issues should not in any way determine any civic decisions. The Elderly Affairs Department, as it is run in Atkinson, is a well governed attribute to the town only because of the unselfishness and dedication of Phil Consentino! He has done more for practically no money for the town than all the selectmen put together. There are many issues the town can take care of instead of wasting taxpayers' dollars to run audits in the hope of finding something askew with the Police Department and the Elderly Affairs Department. Chief Consentino has done and is still doing a marvelous job for the elderly in the town of Atkinson. Remember, you young and middle-aged, you all have one way to go — to become one of the elderly!
Chief Consentino has set a fine example of concern and compassion for all the residents of his town; if only the other towns could find a "Phil Consentino" amongst them! The selectmen should feel honored to have someone of his caliber and commitment in town affairs and get off their authoritative ego agenda and take care of real, pressing issues. Get off of Chief Consentino's back so he can concentrate on continuing to do his good works. The thought of combining the Elderly Affairs and the Recreation Departments is ludicrous! It not only will cost much more money and added employee benefits, but it will be spreading one person much too thin, resulting in poor performance and drastic cuts to the services of the elderly. It's simply common sense!
The Board of Selectmen should develop some professionalism, grow up because they are in an adult world now and keep in mind that donkeys belong in barns and not in town offices.
Rita Sampson
Plaistow
Phil used up his supporter letters from Atkinson. It says a lot when he has to call in out of town favors to write letters for him.
Someone should mail Rita hardcopies of all the lawsuits and complaints.
get rid if bos 1 is a corrupt ex cop and another is corrupt contractor raping the town
bend over people here comes the bos express
wonder if fred will be lost again at tonights meeting
Rita can't watch ACTV, isn't being refused services and only knows what she reads in the paper.
Same story with Robert Farrar. They cannot assess the EA or PD because they've never been in a position to know what is really going on in Atkinson. If they know the Chief, it's in social circles only and they aren't qualified to be writing on Atkinson topices.
It just goes to show you how far the Consentino Mafia has extended itself. Who would want the APD run by the county or state if the knucklehead Farrars are examples of what you can be expected for quality police protection And now Mrs Sampson, from Plaistow. Shame on you! Try living in Atkinson before making comments.
Cops should have NOTHING to do with the elderly if not a police matter. Giving them rides is rediculous garbage. Cops are cops. This town is wicked SCREWED UP.
COPS ARE COPS. Nothing else.
Get this! The MRI examiner is sitting in the APD in chiefo bigumheado's office when this call comes in for an EA service referal. The MRI guy must have sat there in stunned silence. I bet he never ever saw that one before. No wonder he told the Selectmen to cut the sh&t.
Now the Selectmen have created a big scandal mess by losing their ball$ and leaving it up to ignorant voters who dont know up from down. What do you call that!
To live in Atkinson is embarrassing. My barber was making fun knowing I lived in this sewer.
Maybe Rita needs to read the Plaistow BOS minutes to find out that you can get elderly affairs rides provided for free. You can even ask and find out how many rides are provided!
i live in atkinson and think the chief is doing a good job at ea and the pd
maybe tim needs to back in the woods and live in the swamp the ea does a lot more that just give rides
Rita = Robert = Chief
He wrote these articles.
Right. In Atkinson the taxpayers have to pay for the elderly to get rides whereas in other towns, the elderly get free rides.
Great program Phil, way to go. Let's pay for free stuff, wow how great.
where is mark asseyard he responds to the eagle trib articke has he been banned from the blog,we all hope so
Copies of that section of the Plaistow BOS meeting should be made and handed out at the Deliberative Session. I have mentioned all of the good that Community Caregivers does in past posts.
There would be half the posts here if the Conman wasdbanned! The ET would go out of business if the Chief passed away too.
Not all but some elderly act like the Occupiers! Demanding or expecting help from taxpayers monies...Just think how a "moocher" will vote in November. No different here....
To 10:45am;
Bill Friel is neither corrupt, nor does his company even work in town.
And Fred's issues as a Lawrence Cop were 45 years ago. Phil was showing his case file to anyone he could during Fred's re-election bid back in 98 or 99.
Try to be honest.
Any issues Fred Childs may have had as a Lawrence cop would have been in another city, another state, and another century for cripes sake! Give me a break! He has been a devoted servant for Atkinson for years!
Adele, Isn't it your friend Phil who posted that?
"There would be half the posts here if the Conman wasdbanned! The ET would go out of business......"
Hmmmmm. Do you miss those hard to read ....insulting.... and blog disrupting Cupie doll posts? What! Was he banned by the blog administrator???? Oh goodie! Could be he just resigned himself in disgrace like a disgraced town moderator who broke the most basic law of public meetings?
Deliberative Session will be honest and enjoyable this Saturday. Cupie Doll and his overweening arrogance will not be missed....just like the insipid and arrogant attempts to disrupt the blog for the APD will not be missed.
To 9:24 AM -
Nope. Just my opinion. Who's Phil?
Adele, I was not trying to smear Fred, merely correcting the previous poster, that neither Bill nor Fred are deserving of the comments he made. Also pointing out, that it is not necessary for him to smear Fred, That is what Phil did to him years ago.
Thank you, Mark. I understand and agree.
"maybe tim needs to back in the woods and live in the swamp the ea does a lot more that just give rides"
I was impressed that the Plaistow BOS had ride statistics for their town's program. In the turnabout is fair play department, here is the good work that our EA department does.
I don't think anyone in town would deny that EA has value. The beef is with the lack of transparency and claims of denial of service to some.
mark if bill was not doing work for the town why did the ag tell him to knock it off,and fred does not know what day it is half the time ("i cant find that paper he he"
what did carol have in the tank monday night was it crazy gas, that would explain a lot or maybe it is where she keeps her sugar
The beef is also with the cost of EA when there are free or cheaper alternatives that do not burden the taxpayers at all.
mark bla bla bla
mark, friel is the most corrupt person i have ever seen, using his workers to do work for the town hiring his brotherinlaw to work on the town hall not paying his sub and suppliers useing his position as chairman of bos to sell elec to other towns for a company he is involved in and the list goes on
BOS Chairman Friel better be on King Phil's approved handyman list?
Fred wouldn't be badgered now if Phil had not shown his report card around Town.
Are the accusations about Friel any different than Phil using PD workers for private interests? or using girlfriends as snitches at town hall? or having your wife work for you at PD? or your son? or running illegal charities? or any other funny business this town is notorious for?
Hey Chairman Bill, why does everyone want to go to Lynn and do some research on you? Is that where the skeletons are located? Hmm maybe they will come out at DS.
2:05 WTH RU talking about?
To 1:27 PM - If you are trying to be funny with your remarks about Carol Grant oxygen tank, you are not! FYI Carol has a very severe heart condition and must have oxygen to breath. I give her credit for even trying to make a normal life for her son Eddie and stay somewhat involved in town affairs.
did not know she had a heart
you don't know what one is.
Yah know !! Your an ignorant jerk when you pick on any one person in a situation of ill health. Where is your compassion for the elderly wether your a Conman supporter or not? You will and can be a subject of ill health and personally I hope you will suffer the same if not more than she has because of your outragious comments!! That said I hope you will have been served a lesson of christian or other religious learning where you haven't displayed any at all here. Even if your not of any faith you should be ashamed of your self. Do I and have I made myself clear? If not then I ,too as I'm sure there will be others, wish you the worst in your eventual demise.
We have always thought that Carol Grant is a very caring person, who has the best interest of the town. It is disgusting for someone to make comments re:her health! She worked very hard on the Vietnam memorial @ town hall. Have some respect!!!
Yeah! And don't forget the Grants created the original Elderly Affairs Department. Isn't it amazing that the current incumbent thinks he's the only one in town that could run EA. What an "a" double "s".
did not know there were so many crack pots on this blog
mark standing up for friel/crook for crook
wonder if she will raise eddies hand to get the extra vote
http://www.drcnh.org/
We've got some truly creepy people in town, don't we 12:54 PM. Just think, you may live right next door
to me.
wonder if friel will show for ds sat in not he should resign
Now if the chief could shoot as well as he can throw spitballs we'd have something.
I bet he already started chewing up paper for Saturday.....
To 12:32; And please explain to me, if you have the stones, how I am a "crook", and then how Bill Friel is.
To 12:54; You should be ashamed. Eddie Grant is perfectly able to express his own opinion. For you to make it sound as if he is incapable, and used by Carol to gain an extra vote is reprehensible.
vote early and vote often
friel is an agent for glacial energy. it just so happens the town switched to glacial energy. hmmm....
Indication of a person, William Friel promoting Glacial Energy:

Evidence of the Town using Glacial Energy :

My Good Neighbor,
Why did you change the intent of the petition warrant article and expose the Town to more lawsuits?
Leon, did you start up bright and early this morning with Boody Mary's and then at lunch switch to the hard stuff?
You are a clown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr Bromfield,
Go back to the circus, you are the biggest clown in Atkinson. I am watching you :).
After watching the assessment debackle, I am no longer wondering why the Town wants so much money for legal bills.
Here's to Barbie, the new Politico cupie doll.
Why in the world is the Town against establishing assessing standards? What is in this for you?
Maybe, some people who work for the town would have their homes condemned if there were standards and enforcement of building code.
The officials should be held personally liable for flagrant defiance of State law.
what if some of them had additions and no tax
Do you mean the O's? ...cause they started the party last year.
This is the result of the town not doing their duty, lots of unending crap. How many citizens have to be violated before the zoning, planning, conservation and select boobs get it?
Generally pleased with outcome of Deliberative Session!
They threw away the citizen warrant about assessing issues article that so many cittizen's signed to go to ballot unchanged, with the original meaning and intent uncorrupted.. Moderator Garrity allowed Barbara Snitcher to put in it's place a warrant article of her own devising, the deliberative session voted it in completely invalidating all the citizens of the town who signed that original petition. The judge should order that Atkinson Deliberative Session 2012 be done over and held a second time like they ordered Exeter to do last year. All legal expenses to be paid by the town and the cost of the repeat Deliberative Session paid for by the town. What Moderator Garrity Moderator Garrity allowed this year in Atkinson is far WORSE than the Moderator in Exeter.. Mr. Bromfield should get an injunction from the judge against Moderator Garrity or against the town. Moderator Garrity wrongly believes "his" moderator rules superceed State Law, just like Polito. Polito is no longer our Town Moderator.
How sad.
Disagree
Good thing there are courts and judges to rule on disagreements. Did you know there was recently yet another similar case brought against a town Deliberative Session and the town LOST? So there are now two legal precents out there and IT IS current case law unless overturned by another judge.
Oh Mr. Garrity. I hope you enjoy the judges opinion and the courts demand. It will be so much fun to go to Deliverative Session a second time to correct the violation of the petitioners and do the whole Deliberative Session over again. Can you imagine the embarrassment to the town? The Moderator? Pay attention people! This is Atkinson Town history in the making!
At least it gives the Budget Committee and Artis another crack at getting all the facts about legal costs they with held from the budget committee and the Right to know requests.
And give all those wonderful old ladies and Sapia another crack at praising the 44 years of outstanding service of the head of Elderly Affairs. Long live! Long live!
It's always the same people who corrupt the meeting and try to bully the residents wishes.
Barbara Snicer, Phil Consentino, Jack Sapia, Debbie DeSimone, Paul Sullivan. What is with you people that you have to rip apart articles others have legally constructed? If you want to put something on the ballot, get out and get your own signatures and do it fairly.
Mr. Garrity, I am ashamed that you allowed these thugs to alter the articles.
The good citizens at the Deliberative Session have just as much right to affect/change the petitions as those who signed them and did not show up at the Deliberative Session to defend them
That is incorrect, not to mention illegal and unfair.
There were people defending the articles but when the man in charge of the room decides to toss away voter rights, we'll end up back in court. Hope you're happy now.
The Town is crappy. It's run by a bunch of snots who think they don't owe the residents any courtesy, transparency or accountability. It is not always about what the Police Chief wants, or what Barbara Snicer wants. There are lots of other people that count and they are being trampled by these rotten 'public servants'.
Who gave you the right to judge? A little too self-important, maybe? I, for one, am glad that "majority rules!"

This is HB77.
NO warrant article shall be amended to eliminate the subject matter of the article.
Did Barbara's amendment eliminate the proposed assessing standards in the article?
I would say yes.
No
I noticed that there were more people at the church supper than at the deliberative session. Our good neighbors could have attended both. The "town cronies" were at the church laughing it up & having a wonderful time. I'm disgusted!
I noticed the top 3 candidates were in attendance at the meeting. I couldn't tell you who Fournier is if I tripped over him but where was Billy Baldwin? Did he think he is that much of a "shoe-in" that he didnt need to attend? Wow he if couldn't attend the DS how's his track record going to be on Monday night? Maybe it will be as good as it was at the School Board.
To the poster about glacial energy, your link is broken, please fix so that we can view the selectman's minutes that you are discussing.
Did Friel vote on the matter, or recuse himself?
Mark, you are such an expert at reading the law changes, where were you yesterday, my good neighbor,? Or should you be addressed as "my former good neighbor". If you still reside in Atkinson they really could have used you for the third of the 3 ring circus.
In this corner from Upper Maple, Leon Artus, and in the far ring from up on the lake, Mr Brown(m)field, and finally in the center ring from parts unknown,,,Mark Acciard!
hahahahahah I love when the circus comes to town!!!!
Baldwin is not running to help the town of Atkinson. His agenda is 2-part and both begin with R.
Resume- It's all about getting another line to impress those who don't really know him.
Revenge- On those who snubbed their nose at him this past year and possibly in the past.
I hope my good neighbors come up with some tricky questions for candidates Night. No softballs! I want to watch Fournier and Baldwin tap dance around the issues they know nothing about.
Oh William were you patroling the streets of Plaistow yesterday, protecting our country or just awol from the first important meeting of the electoral year? Inquiring minds want to know????
50 people is hardly the majority. Maybe you should get your facts straight.
Mr. Friel,
Clearly you have employees who are corrupt and have disenfranchised the good taxpayers of Atkinson.
You have a spy in the Office, a Tax Collector who is collecting the fair share from all residents -? (ask your spy in the office if the fair share is truly fair - remember Windsor?). You have a bully with a badge, the wife Nepo who guards the phones, and paid drivers who are paid to shut up.
Call the AG, the FBI do whatever it takes to right this problem.
I heard one of the old ladies say to her Good Neighbor Mr. Artus, that you are dodo.

I saw Baldwin was absent. LOL
Did anyone tell him he has to show up for selectman meetings if he gets elected? Hey bill your absentee track record represnting Akinson as a school board member is public info. You miss over half the meetings. Now you want me to believe you'll show up as Selectman?
You got me once. You won't get me twice.
Baldwin hasn't been elcted so why would he show up?
No one wants to be there! You can't encourage participation if the meetings are going to be negative bullying sessions.
Why is it we can't see the actual street numbers or the available stories behind the listed crime reports? That alone should help quell the same over and over domestic reports at the same address as would the other crimes that are constant in the news. Every thing that is news should be published as a matter of concern to each and every one for every bodies safety . There are some who are and will be constantly a nuisance and others who are crazy enough to hurt others in their criminal doings.
I wonder if Mr. Garrity is man enough to admit he made a mistake when he allowed the corruption of warrant articles at Deliberative Session 2012?
Perhaps he was listening to the false advice of a resigned Town Moderator who insisted that Moderator Rules superseded State Law and State Court. THEY DO NOT!!
It would be "unfortunate" to lose yet another Moderator for making similar errors in judgement.
Especially our new moderator, Good Neighbor Garrity who interjected civility and decency into Atkinson Deliberative Session... which was previously a revolting insult to any well-mannered citizen.
(c) No warrant article shall be amended to eliminate the subject matter of the article. An amendment that changes the dollar amount of an appropriation in a warrant article shall not be deemed to violate this sub-paragraph. (Added last year and backed up by Bailey v. Exeter (McCugh) when the voters amended the adoption of RSA #32.)
Didn't we have a previous moderator who stated in court records he was not adequately educated in the basic laws of public meetings?? No one ever told him the law?
That "quaint" excuse is no longer usable to dodge State Law. Here is the law. Please acquaint yourself with the law before it is too late.
RSA 40:13 (SB#2 towns)
IV. The first session of the meeting, governed by the provisions of RSA 40:4, 40:4-a, 40:4-b, 40:4-f, and 40:6-40:10, shall consist of explanation, discussion, and debate of each warrant article. A vote to restrict reconsideration shall be deemed to prohibit any further action on the restricted article until the second session, and RSA 40:10, II shall not apply. Warrant articles may be amended at the first session, subject to the following limitations:
(a) Warrant articles whose wording is prescribed by law shall not be amended.
(b) Warrant articles that are amended shall be placed on the official ballot for a final vote on the main motion, as amended.
When is the Town required to post the results of DS?
When will the 2nd town DS be held and is Garrulity the Moderator?
Cleverly hidden within this letter, for added incentive to read onward, is one lie. Not a lie of statistical or grammatical error but a ludicrous falsehood at once so absurd as to strike the reader as an insult to human intelligence and yet so Pecksniffian as to convince the reader that comments like that don't sit well with the worst sorts of rancorous fainéants I've ever seen. In the first place, I find that I am embarrassed. I am embarrassed that some people just don't realize that I have to laugh when my good neighbor says that everyone who scrambles aboard the "My Good Neighbor" bandwagon is guaranteed a smooth ride. Where in the world did he get that idea? Not only does that idea contain absolutely no substance whatsoever, but you may make the comment, "What does this have to do with pouty, ethically bankrupt pococurantes?" Well, once you begin to see the light you'll realize that he wants to rid the world of "defective" people. Or, to express that sentiment without all of the emotionally charged lingo, I cannot promise not to be angry at him. I do promise, however, to try to keep my anger under control, to keep it from leading me—as it leads my good neighbor—to compose paeans to ultraism. So you see, I am fed up to the back teeth with my good neighbor's arrogant, slovenly morals.
Thanks for your opinion, Frank. We missed you at the mic Saturday.
Has to be Frank....My good neighbor.......Jack Sapia can't express a full thought because he's so far up Consentino's butt.
Say it over and over Jack......seems to be an echo in the bowel! We can't understand you. Would you say that again Jack? Jack? Jack? Jack............?
friel using his position as chairman of bos to try to get other towns to join his elec company
Most who read here are of average to simple means when it comes to understanding your big words that aren't of their comprehension. Please!! I beg of you to use the more common terms when it comes to your selection of words. Not all of us have a dictionary at hand when we read your "stuff" that can be misleading to the reader by the way you use these words that aren't common enough for the average and simpler person to comprehend. A good many of us work for a living and haven't the time to look up the meanings of your BIG WORDS.
look under glacial energy complaints, sounds like friel found someone just like him
missing from police log traffic tied up for an hour on the scenic vista as a bunch of wild turkey were run over by a truck animal control called in to clean up the mess
Anyone see Baldwin at the TRSD delibereative session the other night?
Nope another no show for BB.
It's amazing some prominent citizens are backing this man.
2/6 1:36 We call a person of such high intelligence such as yours in our parts a "BLOWHARD". That's equivilent
to a lost soul babling on with fancy words actually thinking someone would be impressed with their writing. Not gonna happen.
The word "gobbledygook" describes obscure and convoluted language full of jargon. It is an extreme form of linguistic pitfalls, where simple ideas are made unnecessarily complicated and cliches are dressed up as profound truths. Many people seem to think that long strings of management jargon indicate sophistication and professionalism. But in fact they hinder communication and are unnecessarily long winded.
Thank you Mr. Gobbledygook
I think the gobbleygook been drippin from his chin to much, so its hard to think with a mouthful.
