Boycott, if you would like to post a nice comment to the family you can on the Eagle Tribune. Boycott

To all the mindless lemmings repeating the word 'boycott.'

What does Dale Childs have to
do with boycotting the blog??--
considering she was never
involved with it?

To use the demise of any person to shut a blog site is unfortunate and uncalled for. The boycott bloggers are the lowlifes in Atkinson who have their own agendas and not the for the good of the community. What they can't seem to accept is the public response in favor or not on any subject on this site. It just doesn't fit in their open or hidden agendas and that seems to be why they use a persons death as a tool to destroy the site and further their own selfishness. JMHO

It is disgraceful to use Dales passing for your selfish agenda.

I did not really know Dale Childs but reading the ET article showed me her public service was so much bigger than I knew and it is a tribute to her.

I recently went to the funeral of my friend's wife and listened to the family members talk about her. I saw I knew only a little about Fay and not the whole picture by far.

Consequently, I politely request others post their memories of Dale. And I politely request postings be respectful and honorable to Dale's memory.

My condolences to Mr. Childs. Many share your loss.

I read the very one-sided comments about Dale Childs, and wonder about the deliberate overlooking of the fact that for all of the good things and time Dale gave to the town, she was also a very flawed individual who bullied and abused people who she disagreed with.

Objectively think back, re-watch some cable tv tapes of past Town Meetings. Dale repeatedly, town meeting after town meeting, would loudly heckle, use vicious sarcasm, and be very verbally abusive to residents whose position she disagreed with, while they were at the mike. Moderator Polito never had the backbone to stand up to her and she took his cowardice as a license to attack and be very verbally abusive to opposing speakers at will.

Outside of Town Meetings, many residents interaction with Dale as dog officer and police officer was of their being cursed at by Dale, whose vulgar language reflected poorly on the town.

Yes, ceetainly feel sorry for her suffering from the ravages of cancer, definitely feel sympathy and compassion for family members who helplessly watched her suffer, and have now lost a family member, praise what good things and hard work which she did for the Town, but at the same time, don't cast a blind eye towards Dale's abusive behavior towards anyone who she disagreed with. While she had a good side, she also had a very dark side, which could be very dark.

They will be those who will not like the truth of this posting and will attack this posting, but those same people, in they make themselves think objectively, will have to admit that she was definitely no saint in how intolerantly and abusively she dealt with people with whom she disagreed.

You are absolutely correct.

The new write up explains how the town admin is related to Dale. He calls her an aunt and friend of his mother. I guess he has connections. Who knew?

Is our Police Department cursed? How
many employees and former employees
have passed away? And how many
from cancer. Time to check for radon or
boot out Consentino. Be afraid men in
blue. Be very afraid.

That was uncalled for.

There is a good side to everyone and now is the time to focus on that. Yes Mrs Childs was not perfect. I certainly am not. But now is the time to sum up the best part of her life. So please continue with any short stories about Mrs Childs. We only need to hear the wonderful ones now as the negatives have been reported.

Thank you.

Fred and Shane, so sorry for you loss. My condolences to your entire family. Please ignore those who use her passing for their personal political agenda on this blog. Disgusting.

Dale was genuine. Anyone who knew her was aware of her dedication and that yes, sometimes she pissed people off. You had to have your homework done when it came to debates. I didn't always agree with her but that stuff seems so trivial now. I learned a lot from her and appreciated her spirit and determination. I think others could learn from her as well. Everyone should have paid closer attention. I view her as a teacher and better understand what public service means in Atkinson.

Thank you, Dale. RIP

It sounds like you had a real problem with Dale but now is not the time to be so negative. The bottom line is if you felt so injured, you should have taken steps to get support in meetings or volunteer or do something about it at the time. Why didn't you? Sounds like you were gutless then and now speaking ill of the dead is even further proof you are gutless.

Complaining after she has passed is rude and disrepectful to the family.

Wait until Consentino passes. I can almost see the gushing articles in the Eagle Tribune now. I for one will be dancing in the street right in front of the police station. If you're looking for me, I'll be the one speaking ill of the dead with a megaphone.

Come on now, he has done so many good things for the seniors in town. How can you speak ill of Phil? Many will miss him.

Will we need a detail for the funeral?

Fred, you were one of the first people I met in this town and you've always been a class act with me. You and Dale fought for what you believed in and while some take issue with that I believe you always had the best interests of the town at heart. It takes courage to take a stand on anything in this town and even more so to hold public office here. Thank you for all that you and Dale did for Atkinson over the years. RIP Dale.

Very sorry to read of Dale's passing away. Although we did not know her personally, I can say she must be admired for her work. We moved out of state years ago from Hampstead. To make a long story short, before we moved, we had a yard sale, received a check that bounced several times, notified the Hampstead PD and Dale said if it was the last thing she did, she would get that money for us. And she did just that. Even though we were out of state, she kept in touch with us.

Those of you who are writing negative comments should be ashamed.
