Atkinson to seek new administrator

From the Eagle Tribune;

Atkinson to seek new administrator

ATKINSON — More than three months after the last town administrator left, the selectmen will now advertise for the position.

After their regularly scheduled meeting Monday night, the selectmen said they plan to have the position advertised in local newspapers by the end of this week. "My guess is we'll have responses fairly quickly with this economy," Selectman Bill Friel said.

Selectmen decided not to hire the Local Government Center, which they used for the previous search to find Steven Angelo last fall.

One reason to go without the Local Government Center was the $5,000 fee, Chairman Fred Childs said.

"By doing it this way, it won't take as long," he said.

Friel said they have already received a few applications for the job without even advertising.SClBSelectmen offered a candidate the job two weeks ago but when that person gave notice to his employer, Atkinson's offer was matched.

That candidate, whose name was not released, was left over from the last search when Angelo was hired.

Angelo left in late January after only a couple of months on the job. Before Angelo, Craig Kleman served as interim town administrator. Kleman was hired in April 2008, but left last summer to take a similar job in Plaistow. He has since left Plaistow.

The previous administrator, Russ McCallister, left in February 2008 to work as a government adviser in Iraq.

Selectmen said in January that they were waiting until after the election in March to start looking for someone to fill the position.

Hey, Administrator!

Let's see if you and your fellow conspiracists/complainers really have the town's interests at heart?

Please keep a running scoreboard of the town government vacancies, and let's see if the people who apparently have enough time to continually come here to complain, are willing to invest the time to really help the town.

Let's see if you, or they, can even fill one position. I'm betting you and they...won't.

In case you are wondering...I have!

No honest person would want to serve UNDER the Atkinson Mafia until the Mafia is gone. Get people like you OUT of Town, and the good people will take over. You think you are entrenched, but you will be BLOWN OUT.

Just my opinion

Atkinson Mafia. What a tool. Run for selectman then and you won't be serving under anyone. But I'm guessing you'd rather use clever little sayings like "Atkinson Mafia" as an excuse to keep yourself in your little cocoon.
