The Atkinson Reporter would like to issue a Formal Apology to Lt. Baldwin!

As many of you know and have commented, there appeared on this blog a couple of weeks ago, a story about Lt. Baldwins job as a part time officer in Kingston. In response to the very first comment posted we pulled this article down out of fairness to Lt. Baldwin, while we attempted to either confirm or deny it. While we still have not found any officer willing to go on the record with the story, It appears there is a letter written by Chief Briggs of the Kingston police force that basically denies the original story.

This blog understands that our choice of language may be circumspect, but we have no wish to fan any wild speculation by alluding to the details of the original story.

Lt. Baldwin we apologize for any misunderstanding, and wish you well in your continued endeavors.

Well, it is nice that you apologize, but it was still a rotten thing to put out there about Lt. Baldwin.

I think this is a good example of the lengths this blog will go to to discredit people who are trying to make a difference in our town. In their zeal to get this "story" out, they did not wait for proof or facts. Shame on you!

I suggest the Atinson Reporter(s) stick to what they do best: cut and paste stories from the Eagle Tribune and let the local loonies and cranks figure out ways to link all of our problems to Chief Consentino.

Read: Lt Baldwin, please don't sue me for defamation even though I thoroughly deserve it! I know I'm an ass who uses this blog as a vendetta against the people I'm suing. Maybe someday I'll grow up and get a life...

Ha ha.
I missed the piece for which AR is apologizing.
I read previously that LTB worked part time for Kingston. Not sure how he can do that given that he is "on call 24/7 as a salaried LT for APD.
I am not on 24/7 but I still have to get approval from my manager to work a second job.
The taxpayers of Atkinson own his but 24/7. They expect him to show up for scheduled shifts rested and ready to give it all to Atkinson. He can't do that if he is working a few towns over all weekend or what ever that schedule is.
If he is no longer doing the part time thing, good for him for doing the right thing. APD plus school board should keep him plenty busy.

I disagree, when a police officer from Kingston tells you something happened in Kingston, why would you not believe it?

he also works PT in Plaistow

Dear Atkinson Reporter(s),

Anon 2:23's comments are a perfect example of the result of your shoddy "reporting." I hope you are pleased with yourselves.

And Anon 2:23, did you read the apology? There is a letter from the Chief of Kingston denying the story.

Who cares if the Lt works part time for other towns? We do have a reciprocality agreement with the surrounding towns you know. As far as the moron who thinks we own his but 24x7, do you view yourself in the same way with your employer? Didn't think so jackass.
