More than we had but good reports list names, places, times and small summary of results.

That is not what the log is for, that shows up in the report. Order a report for yourself for a thing in the log.

Anonymous said...

The cruizers are not yet equipped with the new computers so that the officers are still operating in the 1940's.

Let us see what happens when the get the new system and get it up and running.

Still averaging 1 call per shift.

Anonymous said...

I don't care how many calls, I care about knowing about them. We can get to budget inconsistencies later in the year.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, what is listed below is an actual recent police log from another police dept. Years ago the public got even more info than we do today. That type of report allowed other perple in the area to get a heads up making them more aware on what to look for.

We get less today than we got years ago even though we pay more today, Pay more and get less.
That's the motto with authorities of today.

What is the difference between Atkinson and New London? Why are we being told what PVC did?

"Police chief accused of asking to take nude photos of suspect"

Police chief accused of asking to take nude photos of suspect
AG says New London chief agrees to resign, relinquish police certification
Published 4:47 PM EDT Apr 04, 2013
NEW LONDON, N.H. —The New London chief of police resigned Thursday after he was accused of telling a woman that charges against her would be dropped if she let him take nude pictures of her.

Attorney General Michael Delaney said Police Chief David Seastrand resigned his position and permanently relinquished his certification as a police officer.

Delaney said a complaint against Seastrand was made March 6 by a woman who said that after she was arrested, Seastrand told her that the charges would be dropped if she allowed him to take a series of nude photographs of her. A criminal investigation into the allegation was launched.

Delaney said Seastrand agreed Thursday to resign immediately. Delaney said that as part of a negotiated disposition, the investigation will be concluded, and no criminal charges will be brought against Seastrand.

We already went over this once. It's time for a change. APD needs new blood. Open a search for a new chief. Of course, Caggiano can apply. Then we get to find out who "O" is. This whole topic sound like more cheerleading for Caggiano from his officer buddies and the labor union hacks. For all we know we should be applauding the whole BOS or Baldwin for making the police logs public again, not Caggiano. Where's the proof?

Caggiano got this done.

Anonymous said...

Since Caggiano was appointed to the position of "acting chief" by the BOS, he's under their direction and serves at their discretion. How can you be so sure it was Caggiano
alone that posted the police logs? Are you from the BOS?

And before we all "Hail" Caggiano, how big an effort could it have been to have someone else post the logs. You don't think he actually did it himself? Now if
Caggiano arrested the person that threatened and defaced
Maccaird's home and car, that might be something.

The logs are just fluff. But municipal workers just love fluff. They use it to add to their pay checks along with their police and union buddies

Anonymous said...

If I remember correctly, the biggest irony of the 35 year old Consentino reign of terror was Selectwoman Carol Grant casting the deciding vote appointing Consentino in the first place. I seem to remember her apologizing for it in the original Atkinson Reporter.

I say we deserve a full review of Caggiano before making his appointment permanent. This can be done by starting a search for a new Chief, not selecting a candidate for an important position from a list of 1. The last thing we need is the current crop of policemen and union hacks making decisions for long time residents. Do any of these cops or union hacks even live in town?
I doubt it.

Just as the Selectmen are ultimately responsible for everything in Town, you cannot expect them to actually DO everything in Town, that's what employees are for. Caggiano is running the PD now and he instructed the Webmaster to post the logs. He doesn't do the posting himself. The logs now contain more and are more complete than we've had in years. This is good.

Anonymous said...

The bos is responsible for the failings of the employees and appointees. Look at how much the Osborn mess has caused the Town. If the planning office knew what they were doing, they would have stopped that permit process when they were informed that Osborn didn't own the property. When will they put the right people in planning and zoning? Not Polito, not Killam, trained professionals.

Anonymous said...

Consentino could easily have better more reliable police logs posted. BOSs all along the way should have demanded it. Were they lazy, stupid or afraid? Perhaps they were all having drug and sex parties and the chief held them all at bay with his collection of dossiers.

I'm complaining for a third time. Open up the search for a new police chief. We're not interested in the opinion of anyone on the current police force or their union hacks. Caggiano needs to be fully vetted. Bring in Municipal Resources Inc.

Caggiano wants us all to forget. Right now he's playing the shoe-in. I personally prefer the term shoo-in. I think the meaning is more appropriate here.

My opinion

Anonymous said...

While I agree that the job should go to the best candidate, he deserves credit for increasing public awareness. Now, why don't you clean up your act by eliminating the crass language.

Anonymous said...

i wonder how acting chief of police caggiano and selectman baldwin get along. No disrespect, my shift key is broken.

Anonymous said...

Good question. Caggiano has what Baldwin could never get and Baldwin is now his boss.

Anonymous said...

I'm surprised that there were no comments about the elderly affairs mailing that people just started receiving yesterday. Apparently, the elderly can still call Phil if they need something.

Anonymous said...

Heaven forbid Phil died. Has he made arrangements in his will for flyers to be distributed yearly and a phone line activated so the elderly can still reach him over on the other side. Only in Atkinson! BOS, get this mess under control. You may have fired him, but the circus continues.

Anonymous said...

It's a private nonprofit fund. Why do you think the BOS has anything to do with it? Can the BOS interfere with your private affairs?

Anonymous said...

I threw my letter from Mr.Consentino in the trash! I will send a donation to town hall c/o Bill Innes. He's in charge until a new Elderly Affairs director is found.

Anonymous said...

Was the flier that had Phil's phone number on it published, paid for and distributed by the Town of Atkinson? If the elderly want to continue to use or support Phil's private charity then Phil can come up with his own advertisements.
And what's going on with the elderly transport cars, the dispatcher and drivers. Everything run by Phil's private charity should be separated from similar activities provided by the town. Perhaps Phil can move his items to his house, but that might bring up some zoning issues. And be warned, elderly, Consentino was booted from his position under a cloud. Just to be safe, I'd call the town for help until the story comes out.

Anonymous said...

That's easy enough to figure out. Go to the town and ask to see the 2013 expenditures. If you read the flyer though, it does say the charitable fund spent $4200 in printing and postage. Shouldn't be difficult to connect the dots as to who paid for the flyer.

If you’re a middle-aged single woman who happens to own a cat (or even a dozen stolen cats), you don’t have to be pigeonholed into the old “cat lady” adage. With an increasing number of women choosing to live an independent lifestyle, driving around there convertables. Having a cat provides the same benefits of pet ownership but without the more dependent entanglements associated with having a dog or other high commitment companion animal. Although the “cat lady” stereotype prevails, you can still have a cat and not be a cat lady. BUT YOU STILL ARE!!

Anonymous said...

The idiot is back. I think independent women are great and convertibles too. She must be loaded. No one but an uneducated caveman would think this is bad.

Atkinson Police Charitable Fund

Is this a scam or what?

There are no Atkinson police officers on its board.

It's not run by the Atkinson PD.

None of the funds go to the Atkinson PD nor are used by the Atkinson PD.

I'm going to create the Atkinson Women's Civic's Club Charitable fund. How about the Atkinson FD Charitable fund? Or the Atkinson Conservation Commission Chartibale Fund?

Do you think anyone would object? Or is only one man allowed to run something with such a misleading and in my opinion, fraudulent name?

Stooping to a twisted new low. No wonder he got fired.

But a bunch of misled seniors keep sending him money. What a crime.

Anonymous said...

It is no different than when he used to stroll into the selectman meetings and ask to withdraw money to help an anonymous senior with oil. The request allowed, the money never matched the requests and who know if it was his oil tank that was filled. That was the old supposed town managed fund.

There is still no oversight when he can state in the newsletter that he donated money to the Town, when he did not, it's fraud.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone see a problem with the newsletter having all the members of apcf being elderly affairs workers and the president is their old boss. Where is their loyalty? Is this a conflict of interest to have them working for a secret fund but using the elderly this way? It doesn't feel right to me.

Anonymous said...

They are collecting donations and using them in connection with distributing town services. This fund is private and it is interfering with the execution of town business.

Anonymous said...

This is when the waters get murky and lines are crossed.

Anonymous said...

There is nothing to prevent the drivers from soliciting votes and donations while the elderly and feeble minded are captive in the back seat. It's business as usual. Hell, yes we have conflicts of interest.

Now 11:42 has just exhibited a fine display of prejudice and ignorance. Well done. Apparently anyone with an Italian ancestry must be a bad person. Perhaps I should hold up a few WASPs who have exhibited bad behavior as a way to discriminate against them. Nah. That would be stooping to the level of 11:42.

If you discriminate against one group, why should I believe you don't discriminate against others? You were the one advocating for a WASP. Discrimination is discrimination. I don't care what the ancestry is of someone who did something wrong. I'm intelligent enough to understand that you don't paint entire groups with the same brush. Everyone is an individual and should be treated as such. This apparently is a lesson you've yet to learn. The behavior you have displayed is truly sad. I hope for your sake you can learn to overcome your disdain for ethnic groups you find unappealing. You'll be a better person if you do.

Why should American's of Italian ancestry have to do that? How about AMERICAN's denouncing bad behavior? You make it sound like American's of Italian descent somehow own the bad behavior of others. Your ignorance is in full display. BTW, those WASPs who wrote the US Constitution were also responsible for declaring slaves to be 3/5's of a person.

You held up WASPs as somehow being superior to Italian American's and I pointed out that WASP's wrote slavery into the Constitution. For all the good that is in there, the 3/5's clause was a stain on that document. So using your "logic" that Italian American's who live in Atkinson must take ownership of Phil's, Jack's, and Frank's behavior by being the only ones who need to denounce it, it only makes sense that WASPs apologize profusely for the sins of their fellow WASPs with regards to slavery.

Here's the thing. We are only responsible for OUR actions. No one else. So call me a Russian Socialist or whatever other petty little name your small mind can think of (BTW, Russian's are traditionally Communists, but I don't want to confuse you with facts) and tell me that I'm not welcome "here". If here is your small minded bigoted world of hate that you've displayed, fear not. I'm not going anywhere near it. Does your hate keep you warm at night? You must save a ton on heating in the winter.

All those who are in this category need to go as well or we may find ourselves in the same position in another year.

Mrs. PVC, Cunningham, police who refused go into the woods when on calls, those who are lazy and just collecting a check, snitches in town hall, and the whole corrupt building department. Ryan, Snicer, Butler, Anderson, Magoon, Jones, all should be replaced next.

Our "acting" Chief is working out OK. Is it not? We need to vote in March to make the position full-time, unless you want another "part-time" Chief right now.

As for attacking people, you can say what you say, we will let you say.

Just noting: I notice most of the "deleted" posts were spam links, not "censored" comments.

Anonymous said...

Hi May 03, 2013 8:20 AM

What rock have you been living under? Baldwin is corrupt. He understated his military pay causing the taxpayers to spend more to compensate. He also has a serious problem with meeting attendence If I remember correctly Consentino also paid him extra for training he wasn't entitled to. I would have to search the blog back 5 years to get the real story. He's part of the old guard.

As for Caggiano. Please list 10 things he's done to improve the police department. And please don't include getting the police logs posted on the town website more than once. It's fluff. The BOS should have demanded it a decade ago. Caggiano would make a horrible Chief of Police. He's a Unionist and an opportunist from Plaistow. Nothing more. Atkinson deserves better after the Consentino years.

And about this "real" thing. I reread my post and nowhere did I say a part time Police Chief is unreal.
Nice try, but you made this up. I do thank you for allowing my 1st amendment rights here Bravo!

Anonymous said...

The Town really should conduct a proper search for a new Chief and seek to hire the best candidate. We have been through enough and deserve it. It's important to squash the corruption here for good.

Anonymous said...

Simple questions. Would you like to see the BOS hire a full-time chief this year? If so, please explain how they should do it legally. Can the BOS vote to change the current part-time position to full-time? Do they need to wait until town meeting in 2014? Should they hold an emergency town meeting?

Anonymous said...

In the up coming fall a town meeting should be held to ask if there should be a full time or part time chief. Then a selection of candidates from any where other than Atkinson and Plaistow should be gathered to make the selection of a new chief for the town. Those selected should be from the proper state or other states agencies that qualify the candidates with their proper back rounds for the appointment. Enough is enough and as I see it May 4th @ 9:30 said a mouth full of truth in regards to selecting a good chief for the job.

Anonymous said...

It only takes a petition with 50 signatures to call a special town meeting. Go for it. If the bos do it, even better.

Anonymous said...

Your telling us 50 signatures is all that is needed and then say the BOS can call for a special town meeting. If these things are true then watch out. Who will be behind the 50 signature effort is one thing but if the BOS calls for one before the cooler fall then you can bet its a bag job. They know the public wouldn't show up in numbers due to the warmth and heat of the summer. They then would have certain people show up to get what they want. I'd be careful to observe any possible conflicts of interest by one or more of the BOS members summer or fall.

Anonymous said...

"candidates from any where other than Atkinson and Plaistow"

Can you say "lawsuit" for discrimination?

And your tell, "proper", let's me know you wrote both posts.

This 2:57 person is a bigoted illiterate and a hot head. But still, it's hard to accept an APD or PPD crony for this reason. How do we do this fairly and keep the current corruption at bay?

Anonymous said...

2:57isn't a bigoted illiterate or hot head when you consider all of the past history in town. The corruption ,lawsuits, damages to persons and property, selective law enforcement ,etc. are reason enough to want no one from Atkinson or Plaistow to select from. There wont be any law suit if the BOS just does its job. Avoiding of local applicants would be hard to prove any where in law if they pick some one of their choice out side of the towns mentioned here. If not then you allow the town to continue to be corrupt. What is better ,a clean slate or the same old dirty political control within the town?

Anonymous said...

I also agree that it would be best to hire someone from outside the area due to the years and years of problems.

Anonymous said...

2:57 doesn't strike me as bigoted or illiterate. Is someone on the blog "wide awake in dreamland"? The bigot reference sounds like a slur. When you complain about someone's literacy or lack thereof you sound like a wimp. Personally, I think the complainer is pro Caggiano and pro union. Nice try but you're doing the acting chief a disservice.

The BOS reviews and appoints the Police Chief in Atkinson whether full or part time. They could easily screen out corrupt applicants from Atkinson or applicants with connection to Plaistow. I don't think anyone would want the APD run as a secret branch of the Plaistow Police Department. I mention this because of Caggiano AND Baldwin. Time for some fresh air in town.

Atkinson man charged in assault of woman shoved from truck
ShareThis

PETER PRATT SALEM - An Atkinson man is accused of injuring a woman when police say he shoved her out of a truck near Route 111 and Zachary Crossing.

Several witnesses were with the woman, who injured her hand and had several scrapes on her body, when officers arrived on scene just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

The 25-year-old woman, who was not identified in a police news release of the incident, was taken by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

The suspect, identified by police as Peter Pratt, 27, of Atkinson, had left the scene, according to investigators.

He was located about 30 minutes later on Route 121A by Atkinson police and taken into custody without incident.

He was transported back to the Salem Police Department where he was booked on a simple assault charge and released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Route 121A doesn't even go through Atkinson!!!

Hi Mr. 1:18:

Your "biased and ignorant" may be my pragmatic and intelligent. Baldwin moves to the Plaistow Police Department from the APD and 3 or 4 Plaistow Officers jump ship from Plaistow to the APD. From the pragmatic view, I see a bunch of self-serving opportunists. And let's not forget who hired them in the first place. The BOS at the request of Former Chief Consentino. Doesn't get stinkier than this. We need some fresh air.

Again, the BOS is in charge of appointing a new Police Chief. Much of the process is handled either by a third party recuiting firm or is done in Executive Session by the BOS. Whether the BOS acts in a biased or ignorant fashion it is going to be hard to tell. Even Baldwin will have to keep his mouth shut. If the townsfolk are lucky the top three candidates will be announced publicly and we'll be able to run our own background checks and listen to each ones sales pitch. However, the BOS may not be required to announce anyone publiicly except the winner.

Anonymous said...

While I recognize your hesitation for the reasons you state, it is still biased and ignorant to actually act on such ideas in reality.

You seem to suggest a panel 'candidates night' might be in order with Q&A. Not a bad idea. Let the public have a voice in the process, can't be anything illegal about public interviews.

Well Bill Ballsy, are you going to hire Acting Chief Cavatini or not? Someone will need to slap the cuffs on former Police Chief Consommé and take him for a perp walk. See, sometimes the truth is bigoted and ignorant. At least for the down-to-earth folks that don't live in ivory towers.

Anonymous said...

Why do you sink to their level? You criticize the way they have treated the resdients for years yet you are doing the same thing. This is bullying.

And Billy can't vote on hiring a Chief.

Anonymous said...

It happens every time. A discussion gets started and some posters decide to pollute the blog. It's almost like they want to drive other posters away.

As I see it, things in town are running well. No news is good news.

Anonymous said...

OK, let me get this straight. Calling someone bigoted, biased and ignorant didn't work. He/she won't go away. Now let's accuse the person of being a bully. How do you think that's going to work? When you strike the person bullying you he usually wimps out and backs down. Sounds like sinking briefly to the bully's level is the solution. It's the way of the world, live with it.

The vote on Caggiano will be real interesting. Please explain to me why Baldwin can't vote. This escapes me. Maybe I have a blind spot. Baldwin is no longer a member of the Atkinson Police Department. Or is he still? And being a member of another town's police force hardly seems like a conflict of interest. Given their history, I'm wondering how Baldwin feels about Caggiano. I don't think he feels Caggiano has the right temperament. I believe Baldwin will vote and he'll vote against Caggiano. That leaves it up to the other two Selectmen to appoint Caggiano as Chief of APD.
Some of you folks on the blog need to get a sense of humor. This is like a soap opera. It's fascinating.

Anonymous said...

He works for the town so he can't vote. I've seen him here working in uniform and I believe there's restrictions about him voting on police issues because of this fact.

Anonymous said...

You can stand up to a bully without saying that Italians need not apply, Plaistow and Atkinson Police need not apply due to the sins of others.

This is bigoted, ignorant and it is cyberbullying.

I want the best officer we can find for the new Chief, hopefully a full time fully qualified one. I do not want a part time person who can then allow his skills to decline because the law allows him to have less qualifications due to the PT status.

I don't care where he comes from but I doubt if the best are right here. They likely come from working where they get more experience, in a bigger town.

All I know is I never saw a message, not even one, on this blog stating that I'm a moderate Italian American cat against Sapia, Consentino and Polito. Nothing but silence from the Italian American kitty community in town. So, is your cat a member of the "Atkinson Mafia"? It doesn't surprise me one bit now how these foreign cats came to power, tried to take away our civil rights and ruined the town. Time to send all office holders back to school for remedial US History.

Some cats are smarter than the idiot at 10:14 and he gets to vote. Maybe that's the basis of our problems.

To the blogger that's bigoted against bigots, just remember it was Consentino that asked the BOS to hire Caggiano and the other Plaistow Officers in the first place. Was it part of Phil's grand plan? And, when did Phil EVER make a good decision? Looks like the good ol' boy spaghetti network in action. I agree with the bigot, our town needs a breath of fresh air. And not from the Mediterranean. Now take that stick out of your ass. You sound like a grumpy old fart.

Funny how some people have to sling mud to prove a point rather than to support their point with actual fact.

Funny too how some folks have a stick firmly stuck up there. Pull harder then smile. This whole thread is a joke on you and your buddy Caggiano. Only there isn't any cats.

About the firing. The worst case scenario is that he comes back as an employee or worse, in a political position.

The BOS should have forseen this and disclosed everything to the public which would ensure he would be gone for good. Now what is going to happen? Protecting him all these years is the wrong choice and now we will pay yet again for it.

Hey 8-May 2013 2:21 PM are you from the BOS or the APD?

Hi May 09, 2013 12:11 PM

You're just another town wus. With folks like you around no wonder Consentino,, Sapia and Polito were allowed to run their evil empire. It takes courage to fight the real Atkinson obscenity and to own-up to ones own bodily functions.

xxx ooo xxx ooo

You're fighting obscenity with obscenity? What an idea!! How is that working for you??

A “fat and aggressive” cat named Oscar was arrested by police at the weekend for trespassing into a home in northern Atkinson home and stealing food.

Thank god for my new security cameras. Atkinson isn't safe. We need old chief back. He would make us all feel safe and sound.

I'm sure that the elderly community feel the same way. I feel for you. Don't pay attention to these bloggers. One day they will be old and looking for a ride.

Atkinson is safer without the conman. Only a criminal would want him back.

I blame the person that posted this article, using the title "All Hail Chief Caggiano" for creating this whole controversy. This phrase brings back terrible memories of World War II. All you'd have to do is replace Caggiano with Benito Mussolini. Very poor choice of words, unless the poster was joking. Maybe we're being punked. Next we'll have to give the fascist salute to the APD every time we drive by. Oh no, that would only happen if our Selectman-lite, Bill Baldwin, became chief. Hey, Italy was the only major European power that supported Hitler during WWII. what does that say about Italians?

Anyone in town hoarding cats? There's a local Chinese Restaurant that's running a little low. Just stop by and ask for Mr. Lee. I think they're paying $5 / cat.

The all hail comment has been made on this blog for years and I for one, always thought it was Consentino posting praise about himself. Jmho. I took this article to be a joke against him.

There are all hail the king, the king has spoken comments on here for years. It doesn't justify all the Hitler, Mussolini or Italian comments.

I still find it troubling! The King of Atkinson isn't the Chief of Police. Heck, we just got rid of King Consentino! What do we need a King Caggiano for? Who would ever "All Hail" a public servant? We don't live in a monarchy here.
Or maybe Atkinson has become a petty little fiefdom.

One final question. Did the Italians apologize for their part in WWII? Man, some of our troops were killed. I thought not!

It wasn't just the Italians who participated. The Germans and many others were also part of this. Why are you singling out the Italians?

BTW, the King of Atkison is not the former Chief. I don't see anyone hear calling Caggiano a King besides you.

So why are you?

"There are all hail the king, the king has spoken comments on here for years.". Quoted from Anonymous May 12', 2013 10:05.

I assume all hail the king also means all hail Caggiano.

I don't care about all the obscure European countries. Just the Axis Powers, Germany, Japan and Italy. Germany and Japan have been hanging their heads in shame since the late 40s. On the other hand are the Italians with their "I don't care", bring me another bottle of chianti attitude.

You folks are right about one thing. I don't have a cat. Wouldn't own one to save my life. I'm a dog man.

Now laugh all you farts. This whole Caggiano thread is a joke.

Hard On The Chief

THURSDAY, MAY 16, 2013 AT 05:40PM
The Town of Atkinson just can’t seem to let an old thug go into retirement. I am of course referring to the now former Police Chief Phil Consentino who ran an intimidation and political favor machine scam for decades.
It must be four years now since taxpayers came to CNHT for help with this guy.
We have had all kinds of lawsuits, controversies, meetings, letters and press in these four years and just when all is about to calm down, the selectmen fired Consentino back in March, here we go again.
The Atkinson Selectmen hired MRI, a municipal handyman group for lazy selectmen, and asked for a review of the police department. That is what everyone thought.
So when taxpayers wanted to see the completed MRI report the issue was handed to a law firm other than the town counsel of record.
They are paying a separate firm to deal with the MRI report?
What, the town counsel is chopped liver? Or is this the same old trick of hiring a separate firm so as to have “damages’ in case of a citizen action in court? They tried that on our CNHT activists.
Suddenly the MRI report is a non-public document because of personnel issues.
Could it be that the old saying, “once a thug always a thug,” has come to its logical end and there is a sexual harassment case against Atkinson?
That is what we hear, which means the chief could beat up on political opponents all he wanted and he had complete cowardly support from the Atkinson Selectmen, but a supposed sexual advance to some poor cutie at dispatch was a bridge too far?
News for the oppressed female!
The MRI report will be handed over to the NH AG’s white wash bucket where it will be determined that there “is not enough evidence to bring a case forward.”
Better get your own lawyer Ms. Municipal Employee.
Oh, and a much better idea than at last years Town Meeting in Atkinson where the selectmen wanted to start a capital reserve fund for legal fees, stop letting the chief get you in trouble.
Is it that hard to let go?
And I would like to see that MRI report, wouldn’t you?
