Friel never looked so good

Consentino will challenge incumbent Friel

ATKINSON— Former police Chief Philip Consentino is throwing his name back in the political ring.
Consentino is challenging Selectmen’s Chairman William Friel for a one-year term.
Friel was one of the selectmen who voted to dismiss Consentino for “cause” last February, after an investigation.
Either Friel or Consentino will serve the remainder of Todd Barbera’s term. Barbera died from kidney cancer in October.
Voters will get a chance to question the candidates during the annual Candidates Night hosted by the Women’s Civic Club at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall.
Philip Consentino
Age: 73
Incumbent: No
Occupation: Retired
Elective experience: Selectman
What is the single most important issue facing selectmen? I will make sure all decisions are made during a public meeting. I will continue to make myself available to residents seven days a week.
William Friel
Age: 52
Incumbent: Yes
Occupation: Director of construction
Elective experience: Selectman, state representative
What is the single most important issue facing selectmen? The critical issue facing Atkinson is managing the process of providing a full level of quality services to the residents while maintaining a responsible budget.

I believe Todd passed away from pancreatic, not kidney cancer.

Can't believe either one of these law breakers has the nerve to run for office. God help us if either one gets into office again. Both have done more to hurt the town then help the town.

Anonymous said...

Then you should run for office.

Anonymous said...

To late to sign up...........

Anonymous said...

sorry boys but they are both running. pick one, not consentino.

Anonymous said...

Can you do a write in?

Anonymous said...

anWrite in? Sure but how you going to get everyone to write in the same person?

Anonymous said...

Too late for that folks, don't you think? I am going to vote for Friel to keep Consentino out. Consentino doesn't seem to have the same sense as Reams and to go quietly away. Who in their right mind is going to vote this bully and abuser back in? Is Atkinson that corrupt and dumb? We shall see.

Let me guess: You LOVE cats. Your cats, other people’s cats, cats on the Internet—you don’t discriminate. You’re straight-up obsessed! In fact, sometimes you’d rather just hang out with your cats than with anyone else. Is that weird? Maybe. But maybe you’re just growing up to be a crazy cat lady. Here is a clean sign that you might be....

you sit on a blog with 2 of your other friennds and write about people who don't care about your or a blog.

Ferris

is that why your husband cheated on you? hahahaha

You sit on a blog and talk about cats all day because you have nothing important to do or say. You seem to love the blog more than anyone. Don't you have a life? Poor you.

His life revolves around what's between his knees and waist and hers. It's the only toys his Father ever gave him. It's all he knows. It's an idiots way of life.

If my spouse cheated on me, I'd just move to Colorado to be with my true love. ahhhhhh. Can I hope?

Must be from Medication Lane!

Anonymous said...

Yep, it's JS the BI on Medication Lane. He's not worth engaging.

Why is Mr Friele not running for 3yr term. Is he afraid of Mr Morse ? As sad as it is to say, Consentino is looking real good in this election and its nice to see the abundance of signs in his favor popping up everywhere.

Anonymous said...

It appears to me that Consentino signs are proudly in front yards of residents. Bill signs look to be mostly in the right-of-way??? Perhaps I haven't been around the whole town and I am mistaken, but not from what I've seen so far. Very interesting!

VOTE FOR THE GOOD OL BOY CONSENTINO! THE PUBLIC HAS SPOKEN! THE KING IS BACK BABY!!

Always complaining about changing the liter leaving string everywhere nine times out of ten its the females fault thats why most of the liters dont get married they just purr around. Christ when i left my old feline i had a good old fireworks display and it made me happy. Check back soon Im sure u all missed me check the skys the next few nights bang bang Thanks Dr Phil kitty meow

Everyone I've spoken with is backing Phil. It'll be pretty funny if Bill F is bumped out in this election. It should send a message as to his aspirations to move up the political ladder.

Anonymous said...

Ya, right. Everyone I've spoken to is laughing at him, not voting for him. Maybe you and your friends + Everett Smith, should do a morality check on yourselves.

I wonder if he will show Tuesday.

Atkinson is a very corrupt town. It starts and ends with amateur politicians who get hold of the neck of a small town and strangle it. Ego gratification does play its part. But the real payoff is to shift resources to friends who then pay back. It is a viscious circle. Is it possible to elect an honest selectman who tells the truth, is honorable and just? Would such a selectman fight corruption he sees and reveal it to the voters via the Eagle Tribune?

Anonymous said...

It's only possible to elect one if one is willing to run and serve.

Also, people aren't paying attention to what is going on in Town and we are paying the price.

Did you read the uninformed opinion of Everett Smith in the ET? He still thinks PVC is a Town employee!! Not a clue that the man was FIRED FOR CAUSE AND DIDN'T CONTEST IT. It's the same as pleading guilty.

How many years did it take until the generator at the PD finally went on line? Oh, and who was the contractor for the job?
Is that JS's trunk I smell...I think not.... jmho
The uninformed

Write in Scott Mitchell for the 1 year term for Selectman. Best choice of the three in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

He's running for the 3 year term. pay attention.

scott seems ok but another cop running the town? i dont like it. he will need to speak out about the past political corruption and dishonesty in the pd before he gets my vote. i would like all candidates to pledge on this topic.

Ya know what's evil is how builders/construction types always run for office and voters just don't get how this works. In New Jersey all our mayors Go to jail for payoffs with builders. Electing a builder as a selectman is suicide down here. EVIL scumbags.

Hey Teddy, We gonna get you dat $100,000.00 dump truck AND full time job cause we evil and proud in this here town of New Jersey I mean Atkinson.

Anonymous said...

Now I am being told to vote for this one candidate for selectman because he is LESS EVIL than than the other candidate for selectman! GOD ALMIGHTY.

Will Obamacare pay for a lobotomy?

Anonymous said...

Electing ANYONE doing other business with or in the Town is problematic.

Consentino is unfit for office and is banned from being a Town employee forever. One could argue that a paid political office amounts to being a Town employee.

Unbelievable!

Atkinson Women’s Civic Club is sponsoring Candidates night on tomorrow night March 4th at 7 pm at Town Hall. I am a member of Civic Club and I happen to be chairing this event on behalf of Civic Club this year. This press release is on the last week’s Carriage Town news and our town’s website Home page, I sent email to my email list and it should be on the cable channel 20.

Atkinson Women’s Civic Club asked our town Moderator Jim Garrity to be present tomorrow night and we ask all the audience to write down all the question before those candidates appear and Moderator will pick and choose the questions. Civic Club had sent invitations to all the candidates and they each candidate will be allocated up to 4 minutes speech to state why he or she is seeking the elected office, which includes addressing 3 topics. Then moderator will ask questions; most likely to the candidates who have opponents

3/1 @ 11:43 As long as payment is made by the town whether a stipend or not to a selectman then he is a town representative and an employee. Time to make a complaint to the state about this and get the issue to be resolved once and for all. .

You and most others will be saying blah blah with frustration and disgust when you open your wallets to pay for the future screw ups this nitwit will commit. The only thing he has is the older people he has convinced he is so wonderful and caring - NOT.

Anonymous said...

Write in the name Peter Tarosian...He seems like the best person for the job. Very intelligent man & asked some good questions.

Anonymous said...

peter is running for budcom as a write in.

Anonymous said...

Peter is not for the Elderly. He wants to make it so volunteers drive. What's the backup plan when no one volunteers, or is he going to make it mandatory. Relying on volunteers is not viable when people have doctor's apts. Someone has to be accountable if there are no volunteer drivers. The elderly pay their taxes just like the rest of us and deserve fair treatment. After all, they also pay for the schools which is the largest part of the budget. Elderly Affairs is a miniscule part of it. With Bill Smith and Sue Carol already not supporting the program you don't need another one.

Anonymous said...

the bu plan is lower taxes, call your family, take cart. the elderly want a free ride but what about the families who pay their way while not getting the senior tax discount or free oil....?

Anonymous said...

Since when are free rides fair treatment? It's preferential treatment. How we do it is up to us.

Anonymous said...

I am elderly and pay my own way! I am not wealthy and have sacrificed a lot to be able to fend for myself. I need a ride I I ask my children or pay for a taxi. I feel that people that don't prepare for the inedible just know they can depend on somebody else become more lazy in their efforts to pay their own way. Or vote people in that will not disturb the "gravy" train.
What I saved in my tax breaks more than pays for rides I need. Get real why do we want to put a burden on our younger taxpayers when they have enough burdens imposed on them by the government.
