Whatever happened to those pesky Blog signs?

Remember all the controversy right before the election, with all those "blog" signs appearing all over town? Selectman Sapia stated on camera that they were "illegal"! He was wrong, as he so often was. Selectman Sullivan asked town counsel for a ruling. Selectman Sapia claimed to have received advice from town counsel directing him to remove the signs, but selectman Sullivan quickly, all but called him a liar, on TV, what entertainment!(View VIDEO at right)

But what happened to the signs? They disappeared as quickly as they appeared, the conventional wisdom in the town hall was that chief Consentino, and Selectman Sapia were holding an unofficial off the record race to see who could get more. That statement was heard in the town hall, but, of course, there is no EVIDENCE of any of this. But why were they so aggravated by signs that had nothing but a URL spray painted on them? Why did they feel so threatened?

Were the signs ACTUALLY illegal? Not according to the town's sign ordinance, which classifies them as "temporary signs" which don't need permits, much like real estate signs. And, if you consider that the blog is all about political free speech, then those signs were protected under the Constitution as well, so what happened to them?

We will perhaps never know. Surely we can't expect any type of unbiased, investigation from the police dept., but maybe the sign's owners can get justice outside of town, seeing as that seems to be what it takes over the last few years.

The disapearing Atkinson-Reporter signs was absolutly wrong in so many levels. Clearly the signs were taken by Jack and most likely The Cheif. Jack ordered them gone in a selectman meeting when selectman Fred Childs wife complained about a blog sign in her driveway (mmmm, what a set up that was?), but for some reason all of them are nowhere to be found. Can anyone believe it?

so why isn't that theft? someone bought those signs. someone owned them. someones speech was taken, as well as their signs. What are the police doing?

The Chief doesn't have to go too far to investigate. He has them at the police station. Anyone think he should be arrested for theft? Bet they will disappear after he reads this.

Blog signs at the Police Station? Quick, someone grab a camera and watch the back door. Anyone but me think BIG FOOT lives there? He's about the same height as the Chief.
