Warrant Article to EXPAND Elderly Affairs! and and yet the chief is lobbying AGAINST IT!

Here is the text of the citizen petitioned warrant article;

Warrant Article to Improve Elderly Services

To see if the voters of Atkinson will vote to expand Elderly Services to provide services to all residents at least 60 years of age; and to all residents with disabilities with no age restriction. To restrict the spending of the Elderly Services budget and Town managed donations, to services directed at the improvement of the health, well-being and protection of the qualified residents. Services are to include rides to medical appointments, and medical devices not already available through insurance or other welfare organizations. To further direct the Elderly Affairs Director to seek out other available State and Federal assistance, such
as, but not limited to, NH Fuel Assistance and Meals on Wheels and to post such information at the Town Hall in a conspicuous location. To further direct the Director of Elderly Affairs to post instructions to qualified residents as to how to request and schedule services, in a conspicuous location at Town Hall. To further direct the Elderly Affairs Director to seek out and manage a staff of volunteers to assist the elderly with non-funded assistance such as, but not limited to, shoveling snow and well-being checks. When passed, this warrant article will become effective immediately.

Now why would the chief fight THAT?

It is clear that it will greatly benefit the elderly he claims to love so selflessly. Or could it be that by codifying it as town ordinance, he can no longer portray it as his great generosity with other peoples money?

For years we have heard the chief yell about how if it weren't for him and his tireless efforts to protect the elderly, they would have nothing.

What he forgot to mention is that he is the Towns director of Elderly Affairs, and as such, that is his job! He forgot to mention that this is a taxpayer funded, voter approved program, that will survive even if he was no longer the director!

He also forgot to tell the voters that when he tells them it only cost $19000 to run, that was a lie. It did not account for the $15,000 in donation account expenditures a year, nor the $10- $20,000 bleed over from the PD budget. But it is only money, right? after all it is for a good cause..... right?

All that money was spent for something more than just his vote buying program, wasn't it?

In Atkinson, Tammany Hall is alive and well!

The elderly group needs to understand that every person in Atkinson is paying for this program. The Chief has always made the program seem to be his own doing, to get support in the voting booth. But the truth is, he was stealing from the Police dept's budjet. He has been misleading all of them from day one.

I think this article is a big improvement in the program, not just because I wrote it (yw), but because it come from months of watching how many ways the elderly and others have been denied services if they aren't polically connected to the PD, how many opportunities we have to really help, how the taxpayers have been raped using the PD budget, how the program has been disgraced due to the misappropriation (==fraud) of funds, how the elederly have been, and are now being publically coerced into taking their names off the signature page.

I am so done with this guy. Join me at the deliberative session and we will turn a new page and bring Atkinson to a new and respected position in the State.

THIS is the most important thing you can do for the town and for yourself this year.

The Chief is talking this program down? Why?

Is he afraid he will have to provide services to ALL ELDERLY who qualify, instead of just those that give him money and vote his way?

How much would that cost him if all fourteen hundred he claims is on his list, asked for services?

OUCH, could he afford it through his private slush fund, or would he try to convince the budget committee to increase the taxpayer line item portion of the expense at town meeting?

Hmmmmmmmm, where is our budget committee when we need answers?

Hmmmmmmmm, where are our Selectmen when we need answers?

Hmmmmmmmmm?

Bet they are at Lewis's Country Club getting free drinks while they discuss this issue in an illegal meeting.

Bet Harold Morse is there too.

How do you spell ANOTHER TAXPAYER PAID LAWSUIT caused by Mr. Consentino? (Selectmen)?

How do you spell TAXPAYER REVOLTTTTTTTTT?

How do you spell conspiracy, collusion, or as JACK SAPIA would say: No Smoking Gun Here?

Atkinson Mafia……………understand………..YOU ARE DONE.

Just my opinion.

What do you think?

I would like to see a TAXPAYER WISH LIST (on this blog) as suggestions that would end all corruption in this town.

Any suggestions bloggers? (or as Chief would say: All you anonymous cowards that hide behind this blog)

I think those two deer the Chief says are walking around in the snow making all those THOUSAND of TRACKS, are under estimated. Must be only three deer.

The Chief is lobbying against it?? How?? Why??

That's illegal you know, it's electioneering, against the law, and possibly a felony.

So what is he doing??

OMG, Not Electioneering? Of course it is illegal, but what do you think calling people who signed the FT chief article, and intimidating them into changing their minds, was?

Electioneering!

While I did not write this warrant article, I did sign my name on the petition to support it. I wish to see the elderly better served during crisis periods, such as during the recent ice storm. It is a good idea to have a citizens committee to stay in close contact during emergency periods when the PD is otherwise occupied. In order to accomplish this the entire list of elderly and infirm must be readily available. This winter is not over yet--GD Brownfield

I think that the article to expand elderly services to include the handicapped REGARDLESS OF AGE is wonderful. I hope everyone supports it. It could be you some day who becomes disabled or handicapped.

You don't have to be a senior to be confined to a wheelchair and need assistance to get to voting or doctor's appointments. You don't need to be a senior to have diabetes and having macular degeneration--(be blind or in the process of losing your eye sight)and need help. You don't need to be a senior to have rheumatoid arthritis and have lost your mobility. You don't need to be a senior to be physically disabled.

Thank God Atkinson doesn't have that many medically and physically disabled non-seniors who need help, but for those few who are out there, expanding the elderly services to include the same assistance to those non-elderly disabled, would be a compassionate God-send.

That Consentino would oppose that compassion to those in need of help is despicable. He opposes the "Improve elderly services"
warrant article only because of his ego and his out-of-control need to control everything.

I ask the elderly, when they vote, to support this article and show the compassion to the non-senior disabled that Phil lacks.

I do agree with Carol... She's absolutely right ! There's no guaranty and it can happen to everyone to be one day in need of assistance ! This should be everyone's concern !
